Dr. Hsiao-Wu Hsieh is a synthetic organic chemist by training. He completed both undergraduate and master’s study at National Taiwan University. He also conducted chemical biology research at Academia Sinica before he moved to University of California, Davis for his PhD study in carbohydrate chemistry and glycolipid/cancer antigen total synthesis. After graduating from UC Davis, he joined AnaSpec as a senior chemist to gain industrial experience on process chemistry, solid-phase peptide synthesis and fluorescent dye production. He was intrigued by the concept of continuous manufacturing and flow reactor; therefore, he joined NIBR as a post-doctoral scholar in GDC to explore this emerging field. During his free time, he enjoys swimming, hiking, cooking, tea tasting and railroad history/traveling
